Clobber is a 3D shooter that is based on an old 80's game that I used to play on an Atari 800XL. It's still very much under development and is more of a prototype than anything else.
New versions are being uploaded for anyone to try and comment on.
I've only just completed the basic core of the game play. I now need to add things like a basic menu system, scoring and the number of lives.
Here's a screenshot of a couple of the enemy that are in the game.
this is an in-game shot of an enemy approaching
another in-game shot of an enemy after being destroyed
Here are some screenshots of the latest level 02.
Here's a screenshot of level 01.
Uploaded a new version of Clobber.
This latest offering has a new level (Level 02) and an opening menu that helps to get the game up and running a bit faster.
Level 02 introduces a new enemy (a turret canon) and a bit more detail in the terrain. After completing Level 02 you will be taken back to the menu...that is, until Level 03 is ready for play.
There's still quite a bit left to do to tidy up the game experience but I think you'll agree that it's well on it's way
Uploaded new version of Clobber.
Have updated scene to improve performance of the game. Lightmaps have been applied to assist in reducing the overheads in rendering the frames.
Uploaded new version of Clobber.
This new version includes a crosshair to allow easier aiming. Moutains have been smoothed out to improve appearance.
Have started working on Level-2.
Finally! I have a version of Clobber that is ready enough for people to play online. However, to play the online version of Clobber you will need to first download the Unity Web Player. You will only need to do this once and then you should be able to play Clobber. You will see a download icon for the web player that you can click on to begin the install/download process.
It's still a work in progress and I'll be adding cross-hairs to the canon so you can line up the enemies easier.
There's still a few minor things left to do like what happens when your health points have completely been depleted...only minor things
Please feel free to have a play and to post any feedback on thoughts etc. by leaving a comment.
